It’s June 30, 2021, and I’ve noticed that I haven’t made any blog posts since early last month. I’m checking in with this blog update, but I’m also trying to get myself back into the mood of writing on this blog again. To that effect, I want to share a list of topics that interest me and posts I plan on making in the future.
For the past few days, I have been looking at each of the 572 previous posts1 I published on the blog. My main purpose was to keep a limited blog inventory; that is, I wanted to record all the titles and permalinks. I also took a trip down memory lane.
I recently did a blog inventory. Before this post, I only published 7 posts on this blog in 2021.
Initially, I was just going through the Posts page on this blog and recording the data from there, but that got tedious. I then tried to go through the WP Admin page, but that was taking longer than I expected, and I didn’t want to accidentally erase anything. I finally decided to click directly on my first post and do some copying and pasting from there.
I honestly meant to do this from the beginning. In fact, I created a Word document for this purpose and started putting my first links in, but I got lazy soon afterward. Maybe it was for the best because I lost 3 years of work because of my old computer.2
Anyway, I finally caught up. After recording all the titles and permalinks from my previous posts, I have a few notes. And yes, this is a blog update.

Hello, peeps! It’s been a while since I last posted to this blog, but that was not my intention. I had fully intended to create/stick to a regular posting schedule this year, but disaster struck. Hence, this blog update.
What Happened?
If you have seen my last few posts, you might have already guessed that my absence was due to technical difficulties. Shortly after posting about my excellent news, I realized that my troubles had only started. Over the next two days, it was getting hard for me to work with my computer because I kept getting the Disc Repair message. It got so bad, that I had to partially write my latest post (before this one) with my phone.
I might not have to work with many real papers, but you get the idea. Image cropped. Original image by Jerzy Górecki from Pixabay.
If anyone following this blog wonders why I haven’t posted
in a while, it’s because I’ve been swamped with work for the past few months. I
have a lot of work to do in the next few days, as well.
It may take me a while to figure out my schedule, but I plan on posting some Famous Sayings posts by the end of the month. There are of course many other posts/series I need to work on, including the 2020 presidential series since some people have dropped out of the race already.
Anyway, I’m kind procrastinating by making this post, but I wanted to post SOMETHING today. Thanks for reading.
Hey, guys. Before I make any more posts on this blog, I wanted to give you, my readers, an update.
Some of you may have noticed that I have not published a Famous Sayings post this week. To be honest, I planned on making a post that was based on Thanksgiving, but something happened on Sunday and then the post completely slipped my mind as I started working on other projects.
What Happened on Sunday?
Nothing happened to me or anyone I know, but it is the sport of American Football. On Sunday, November 19, 2018, one player that I’m very fond of suffered a horrific injury and his season ended. He may retire, given the nature of the injury and his age and that really bummed me out. I usually write my Famous Sayings posts on the day that I publish them, so I didn’t feel like making that post that day.
I might make a post about that player, but I’m not sure yet.
Good news, y’all! It’s time for another blog update because I finally got my new computer yesterday. It feels so good to be able to use all the keys. I can write with relative ease now, but does it also mean I will be writing more? More about that below.
I wanted to write about this on Friday so I could write about the March for Our Lives today. However, much of my time Friday was taken up by configuring the new computer.
If you have been following this blog for a while, you may have noticed that I have not been posting very often. So, I thought I’d share a blog update to talk about that and my plans for the foreseeable future.
Reasons for My Lack of Activity
Most weeks, I’ve been good about posting my Famous Sayings featured posts, but for months now, that has been the only regular post I’ve made each week. I’ve scaled down the News Roundups to at least one a month and there are some series that have been left hanging.
One of the series I wanted to finish concerns sports and politics. I wanted to pick up that series before the Super Bowl, but I ran into some problems and I struggled with a consistent problem.
It’s still Sunday where I am and I have gone months without posting a proper News Roundup. I wanted to rectify that somewhat, but not tonight, unfortunately. So this blog update will be used to share my plans for this month (and the next).
In 2016, I created two featured posts for this blog: Famous Sayings and the weekly News Roundup. The former was (and still is) relatively easy to do and the latter took a lot of work. Somehow, I was able to keep up. I regularly put out those two posts each week. Then, it got much harder, especially after I decided to move around my featured posts.
At first, it made sense to move around the posts. In order to look back at a full week, it made sense to start on a Sunday and Fridays were a good place to put a post looking at famous sayings. Yet that somehow made things harder.
Hey guys. I just wanted to post something today, but there’s not much time for a bigger blog post. But November is drawing to a close, so I wanted to use the opportunity to share a list of topics.
This is a blog update I wish I didn’t have to give. Sadly, I have a bit of bad new to share with y’all. Starting this week, I will have to slow down my operations on this blog. That does not mean I won’t be online, but there will be fewer posts after a while.
This computer of mine is dying, and I will need to do less with it until I can get a new one. Also, I might not be able to use Microsoft Office next month. The latter has been vital to my career as a student, as an Internet user, and professionally speaking.
Before we get into my schedule, let me tell you a little story.
