I’m Swamped!

I might not have to work with many real papers, but you get the idea. Image cropped. Original image by Jerzy Górecki from Pixabay.

If anyone following this blog wonders why I haven’t posted in a while, it’s because I’ve been swamped with work for the past few months. I have a lot of work to do in the next few days, as well.

It may take me a while to figure out my schedule, but I plan on posting some Famous Sayings posts by the end of the month. There are of course many other posts/series I need to work on, including the 2020 presidential series since some people have dropped out of the race already.

Anyway, I’m kind procrastinating by making this post, but I wanted to post SOMETHING today. Thanks for reading.

SaM Blog Update (November 24, 2018)

November 24, 2018, 2019, blog update, Famous Sayings, posting schedule, YouTube videos

Hey, guys. Before I make any more posts on this blog, I wanted to give you, my readers, an update.

Some of you may have noticed that I have not published a Famous Sayings post this week. To be honest, I planned on making a post that was based on Thanksgiving, but something happened on Sunday and then the post completely slipped my mind as I started working on other projects.

What Happened on Sunday?

Nothing happened to me or anyone I know, but it is the sport of American Football. On Sunday, November 19, 2018, one player that I’m very fond of suffered a horrific injury and his season ended. He may retire, given the nature of the injury and his age and that really bummed me out. I usually write my Famous Sayings posts on the day that I publish them, so I didn’t feel like making that post that day.

I might make a post about that player, but I’m not sure yet.

SaM Blog Update (March 24, 2018)

blog update, new computer, good news, March 2018

Good news, y’all! It’s time for another blog update because I finally got my new computer yesterday. It feels so good to be able to use all the keys. I can write with relative ease now, but does it also mean I will be writing more? More about that below.

I wanted to write about this on Friday so I could write about the March for Our Lives today. However, much of my time Friday was taken up by configuring the new computer.

SaM Blog Update (February 9, 2018)

blog update, my computer, sorry guys

If you have been following this blog for a while, you may have noticed that I have not been posting very often. So, I thought I’d share a blog update to talk about that and my plans for the foreseeable future.

Reasons for My Lack of Activity

Most weeks, I’ve been good about posting my Famous Sayings featured posts, but for months now, that has been the only regular post I’ve made each week. I’ve scaled down the News Roundups to at least one a month and there are some series that have been left hanging.

One of the series I wanted to finish concerns sports and politics. I wanted to pick up that series before the Super Bowl, but I ran into some problems and I struggled with a consistent problem.

SaM Blog Update (January 7, 2018)

blog update, News Roundup, famous sayings, January, 2018

It’s still Sunday where I am and I have gone months without posting a proper News Roundup. I wanted to rectify that somewhat, but not tonight, unfortunately. So this blog update will be used to share my plans for this month (and the next).

In 2016, I created two featured posts for this blog: Famous Sayings and the weekly News Roundup. The former was (and still is) relatively easy to do and the latter took a lot of work. Somehow, I was able to keep up. I regularly put out those two posts each week. Then, it got much harder, especially after I decided to move around my featured posts.

At first, it made sense to move around the posts. In order to look back at a full week, it made sense to start on a Sunday and Fridays were a good place to put a post looking at famous sayings. Yet that somehow made things harder.

Blog Update (November 27, 2017)

blog update, November, December, 2017

Hey guys. I just wanted to post something today, but there’s not much time for a bigger blog post. But November is drawing to a close, so I wanted to use the opportunity to share a list of topics.

SaM Blog Update (October 9, 2017)

blog update, my computer, Microsoft Office

This is a blog update I wish I didn’t have to give. Sadly, I have a bit of bad new to share with y’all. Starting this week, I will have to slow down my operations on this blog. That does not mean I won’t be online, but there will be fewer posts after a while.

This computer of mine is dying, and I will need to do less with it until I can get a new one. Also, I might not be able to use Microsoft Office next month. The latter has been vital to my career as a student, as an Internet user, and professionally speaking.

Before we get into my schedule, let me tell you a little story.

On Second Thought … (Blog Update for September 14, 2017)

blog update, natural disasters, What Happened, rift on the left

This is an impromptu blog update, but I wanted to fill my readers in on what I plan to do and to briefly discuss some current events.

SaM Blog Update (July 31, 2017)

blog update, July 2017, August 2017

Hey, everyone. Since it’s the end of July, it’s time for a new blog update.

What Do I Have Planned for the Month of August?

My schedule might be limited next month, based on what I have to do and my access to the Internet, but there are a few things I can do early on. For instance, I will continue with my Famous Sayings posts (this week is #73 — ‘Getting a Kick out of It’).

I also plan to continue in the Rift on the Left series. I need to finish the timeline and watch hours of debates first. Hopefully, there will be at least one to show you by the end of August.

Until then, I’m also working on my political dictionary. I’ll have more on that below.

Is There Anything Else I Need to Include in This Blog Update?

I’m just going to keep my schedule light, but if I have the time, there are things I can do, including:

  • Updates for the Russia probe timeline. Since I have been doing research for another person, I have found new details to fill out that post. I stickied the post for anyone who’s interested.
  • Updates for my political dictionary. It’s not a wiki, but just a page where I can keep my own definitions of terms. It will be extremely helpful for the Rift in the Left series because there are over 60 connected terms.
  • A post about health care in the United States. Since the bills in the Senate were killed in dramatic fashion, it’s time to talk about this.
  • At least one News Roundup post. I might discuss the health care bills here, too.
  • A post about minimum wage. This topic needs its own post.
  • A post about basic income. So does this, especially since it was passed in Hawaii.

As I stated last month, there are other posts I want to do before the year is up. For example, depending on how far I get with the Rift on the Left series, I want to include another post about the American election system. If I have enough time in August, I might be able to know out those posts, as well.

Until then, happy reading!

SaM Blog Update (June 30, 2017)

blog update, June, July, 2017

In the middle of doing research for today’s Famous Sayings post, I think I need to take some time to give my readers another blog update.

This month was a little slow in regards to actually making posts, but I tend to do better when I have an actual schedule. I’m in the process of moving, but I know I will be able to make some posts at least for the first week of July. I will make a working schedule anyway so I can challenge myself and see what I can do.
