For this week’s Write Anything Wednesday, I would like to share a few political musings. I know where I stand and you may differ from me. But that shouldn’t really be an issue … today.
What would I like to talk about? To be quite honest, I’m really going to talk about the issues because …
Ugh …This U.S. Presidential Election really sucks!
Okay, after having got that off my chest, I wanted to say that I was bothered a discussion I read on a forum I frequent. Well, I am more of a lurker nowadays, but I have gone back often.

Home is where the heart is.
Today, I was alerted that July 24 is Parents’ Day in the United States. Apparently, it was determined that the fourth Sunday of July would be designated as such in 1994. Sparkyjen has such a touching post on the subject. Please check it out.
Now, in order of this day, I thought I would take a look at this famous saying. There is a bit of a coincidence, as I was thinking of this saying before finding out about Parents’ Day.

Have you ever heard of AVID? For this week’s Write Anything Wednesday, I thought I’d talk about AVID, a program that has been around for much longer than I initially believed.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Here’s a phrase that all of us should be familiar with. Chances are it might have been the first famous saying you have ever heard. I think it might have been the first I heard as a child from what I remember.
I’m running late for Write Anything Wednesday yet again, but today I would like to share some political headlines that kinda made me giggle. As I was doing extensive research for a series of posts I’m working on for another site, I came across some political headlines yesterday.

You reap what you sow.
This post is actually dedicated to this saying and a couple of related sayings.
Originally, I wanted to go over this saying: “You only get what you put into it.” However, there wasn’t much I could find in the way of its origin. But, while I was doing some research, I found that it was connected to the saying above.

Today is Thursday, but I always make an effort to make at least two posts a week and participate in Write Anything Wednesday each week. What I love about Write Anything Wednesday is the premise and the easiness about it. We don’t have to write on Wednesday but as our schedule permits.
Well … I don’t exactly have the schedule excuse, at least for this week. But my focus wasn’t exactly there. I was a bit tired, but on the whole, I’ve gotten more sleep in the last week. It feels good to get at least 6-7 hours of sleep.
What I can do now is share a little story about my experience yesterday.
I normally post these updates at the start of each month (well, since February), but I neglected to give an update for June, but it worked at all for the best. That was an up-and-down month, as some of my more recent followers left. So I went from 50 total followers, back to 49, and back to over 50 again.
In any event, I am finally glad to announce that I reached the 50-follower milestone. Of course, there are plenty of blogs out there with far more followers, but this is big for me and we all have to start somewhere.
Okay, I lied.
I said I wouldn’t do any reposts, but I wanted to share this post in honor of Independence Day in the United States. Much of the text from this post is five years old (!) but it’s still relevant today.
To be quite honest, I’m pretty proud of this post and I wanted to share this with my followers (all 55 54 of them!) and any person who stumbles upon this blog. I have updated some links, some of the text and added some extra thoughts.
